Israel’s Entrepreneur of the Year

Benny Landa accepts  Entrepreneur of the Year awardAn independent jury of Israel business and economic leaders has named Benny Landa, Chairman & CEO of Landa Digital Printing, as Ernst & Young’s “Israel Entrepreneur of the Year”. The Entrepreneur of the Year competition, conducted by the international accounting firm Ernst & Young, is renowned in international business circles. For nearly three decades, the contest has been viewed as one of the predictors of business success with 50 of the 100 leading NASDAQ companies having won the prestigious competition.

“Father of Digital Printing” Adds another Award to His List

Benny has long been acknowledged as the most prolific inventor in the printing industry and in Israel. Frequently referred to as the “Father of Digital Printing”, he forever changed the print industry with the introduction of Electrophotography and the first Indigo digital printing press in the 1993. Since then, Benny’s vision, inventions and tenacity have earned him two decades worth of honors and awards, including the imaging industry's prestigious Edwin H. Land medal.

As winner of the contest, Benny will be Israel’s candidate at the World Entrepreneur of the Year competition that will be held in Monaco on June 3-7, 2015. Benny will vie for the top award with representatives from fifty countries.

The independent committee reviewing Israeli entrants included: Yair Seroussi, Committee Chairman and Chairman of Bank Hapoalim; Dr. Shimon Eckhouse, Founder and Chairman of Syneron; Dr. Orna Berry, CEO of EMC Center of Excellence Israel; Shlomo Dovrat, Co-Founder Carmel Ventures; Eyal Waldman, President and CEO Mellanox Technologies, Dr. Avi Hasson, Chief Scientist, Israel Ministry of Economy; Yuval Cohen, CEO Fortissimo; Mia Likornik, Co-Founder Meitar Liquornik Leshem Tal Geva; Dov Moran, Founder and CEO Komigo; Haim Shani, Partner, Israel Growth Partners.

In selecting Benny for the award, the jury examined attributes such as leadership, financial strength, management capabilities, strategic thinking, organizational culture, innovation, crisis management and global impact.
